Charlotte’s day started like it always had: shower, breakfast, coffee. She worked in a massage parlour in Waterhead LA22, like the other girls. It was a job she had been doing for almost a year now, and although it was not her dream job, it kept her bills paid.

As Charlotte worked on the elderly gentleman, she felt content and happy. She was surprised to realise how much she had come to enjoy her work, and realised the importance of taking care of one’s own body.

After a while, he started talking about his divorce and how he was getting over it. Charlotte took the time to listen and be a comforting presence, understanding that massage had more to offer than just physical relaxation.

As Charlotte worked her way around John’s body, she could feel his tension slowly melting away. She paid attention to the areas that felt particularly tight and worked diligently to help him relax.

When John stepped out of the room after the massage, he thanked her and said goodbye. Charlotte noticed a certain glint in his eyes that had not been there when he first walked in.

After her two appointments had finished, Charlotte tidied up the room and closed the parlour for the day. She felt content with the work she had done. She may not have been working in her dream job, but being able to make a difference in someone’s day with her massage skills was more than enough for her.

As she walked home, Charlotte thought about how lucky she was to be doing something she enjoyed, and she vowed to take better care of her body in the future.
